ROBERT W. SCHMITZ, D.M.D. & ERIKA SCHWEIGHARDT, D.M.D.
We opened our doors as Locust Valley Dentistry in 1995, serving LV and our neighboring communities. We began practicing Cerec Digital Dentistry in 2004 and introduced Cone Beam technology in 2013 to perform guided implant surgery. Old school implant surgery is done free handed, allowing for greater error of your permanent implant. We are surgically placing implants with full computer guidance, which provides a safer and more predictable surgery. Restoring these implants after they have healed can be done digitally, allowing for greater accuracy and a superior restoration. We have a strong focus in esthetics and can provide an esthetic proposal at your cosmetic consult.
The surgical phase of implant dentistry has never been safer, more predictable, and more accurate than now. There is far less post-op discomfort, if any, with this more conservative surgical technique. Fully guided implant surgery is also done in our office, mitigating the need to go to another office. If you need a tooth replacement, we advise against free handed placement, unless it is your only option.
We offer the iTero Element 5D, which is an advanced intraoral scanner that can simultaneously record 3D, intraoral color, and NIRI (near infrared imaging) images. iTero Element 5D also has TimeLapse technology, which aids in visualizing various types of repairs, including "before and after" scenarios of your Invisalign case.
